I uploaded octaviz_0.4.0-9 to unstable. Rafael Rodriguez and I have put
a lot of effort in making the package compliant with the DOG Guidelines,
as regards installation paths. Octaviz uses CMake instead of
autoconf/automake and it less obvious to force the configuration system
to install files where we want. The approach currently implemented in
debian/rules is working but is quite hackish. If anybody finds a more
elegant solution, please commit.
Although the package has no *.oct nor *.m files installed in versioned
directories, it still has the following file:
/usr/lib/octave-2.1.67/liboctaviz.so
This means that the package is strictly incompatible with versions of Octave
different from 2.1.67. I do not know if this can be fixed. Does anyone
know whether Octave can load shared libraries from non-versioned
directories?
