As we originally thought there are very few differences in
octave-forge2.9 and octave-forge2.1. There is only 340 file
differences and the majority(306) are files in the api specific oct
directories. However there are some files which differ that are
installed in the same directory most of these are files that are in
2.1 and are not in 2.9 these include
dir: /usr/share/octave/site/m/octave-forge
cell/cell2mat.m
general/isequal.m
general/sortrows.m
pdb/plotpdb.m
set/ismember.m
set/setdiff.m
set/unique.m
sparse/*
strings/str2double.m
strings/strcmpi.m
strings/strmatch.m
Then there are these files which are present in both trees but have
differing content
dir: /usr/share/octave/site/m/octave-forge
comm/PKG_ADD
fixed/PKG_ADD
FIXES/PKG_ADD
symband/PKG_ADD
graceplot/PKG_ADD
/usr/share/man/man1/mex.1.gz
/usr/bin/mex
I assume that the m-files can be installed in version specific
directories for example:
/usr/share/octave/2.1.72/site/m/octave-forge would have cell/cell2mat.m
but what do we do about /usr/bin/mex and the man page? Can these
files be made version specific?
