Sorry for joining the thread only now. I have no objections to the change and
would like to be added to the member list of pkg-scicomp. Radu is readying
2.3.0 so there will be some packaging work to be done soon :) It would be
good to debate the structure of the package(s) derived from SUNDIALS.
Presently we have libsundials-serial0, libsundials-serial-dev and
libsundials-serial-doc. At one moment I thought it would be better to split
each library into a separate package. Now I am not sure because each of the
libraries may have two options: serial and parallel. That will lead to a
large number of SUNDIALS realted packages. A possible solution is to roll
back to what we had in 2.1.1, that is, to drop the soversion from the package
name and make it
libsundials-serial, libsundials-serial-dev, libsundials-doc. The documentation
package does not need to have -serial- in its name.
