0.4.6 is the first release meant for 2.9. I actually didn't want to package it 
like it is because the build process takes ages. OTOH, while I do have the 
CMake book now (thanks to our library), I don't know when I will have time to 
tackle this.

We have one VTK book in my group and the other one in the library. However, 
these books are crap (sorry). I once wanted to use VTK and there was even an 
image of a head as an example in the book (which was more or less what I 
needed). However, this piece of XXX didn't explain how to get these images.
And I agree totally with J. Chang's review of VTK's User's Guide at Amazon ...

If you want, you can give the 0.4.6 release a try (I know it builds fine). A 
few things:
Normally the recommended way of building with CMake is an out-of-source build. 
That doesn't work with Octaviz, you must build in-source. Expect a build time 
of an hour even on a 3 GHz machine. If you have some knowledge with it, try 
using precompiled headers, that might speed things up.
