Uploading octave3.1 to unstalbe will not interfere with octave3.0 and
octave2.1 (BTW, the later will be in lenny but dropped in lenny+1).  The
problem that I see is that we do not have dummy packages like "octave" and
"octave-info" that would install the recommended version (presently 3.0) of
the packages.  Instead, "octave", "octave-info", etc, are virtual packages
provided by all versions of octave.

The problem then is that regular users will see octave3.1 and octave3.0 and
will naturally choose the former.  We cannot really blame them for making
this choice.  Besides putting a big shouting warning message at startup, we
should imagine other ways to prevent users doing the wrong choice.

Otherwise, we just keep octave3.1 forever in experimental.
