[Pkg-octave-devel] Plans for Squeeze

Hi,
as most of you have probably noticed, I'm not really good at writing
motivating mails, so I hope your intrinsic motiviation suffices for the
packaging of Octave related software ;)
Anyway, I'd say the main aim for Squeeze is getting rid of Octave 3.0
and port everything to 3.2.[1]
When this is done, I want to change the Debian packaging (no outside
visible changes) for Octave: we currently have quite some scripts in
debian/in/, which are run by a target 'maintainer-scripts' in
debian/rules. The main idea behind this stems for the 2.1/2.9 days, when
both packages shared quite some code and patches. However, I feel that
with the switch to git, sharing patches is easier with git and should
simplify our rules' file considerably.
The usual updating and bug-fixing goes withouth saying :)
As a start, I intend to upload 3.2.2 shortly into unstable.
[1] I just learned that this seems to pose a problem for Dynare.
http://www.dynare.org/DynareWiki/DynareOctave (search for 'which()')
Can someone confirm whether this is still the case with 3.2.2?
Thanks
Thomas
