It sould also be removed. I am the upstream author for octave-gpc and have
already abandoned it. octave-gpc depends on the non-free library GPC. I
have approached several times its upstream author and he has no interest in
relicensing his software under a free license.

Go ahead and thanks in advance for that.
I will soon remove the references to 2.1 in the packaging stuff for Octave.
