I applied this changeset.
| The bug report also mention a failure to generate liboctinterp.so due to an
| undefined reference to `std::ctype<char>::_M_widen_init'. I did not
| investigate this issue.

Octave doesn't use _M_widen_init directly, so I suspect it is not a
bug in Octave. But if this is still an issue and possibly a bug in
Octave instead of GCC, will you please send another report?
