This is strange. I actually thought that building twice in a row worked
for me (I cannot test it right now). 

Can you just paste the commands you run when building?

I'm willing to accept that for now. Changing ./configure is just a
temporary measure.

There's no need to ask for my opinion for improvements before you push
them into the repo - just go ahead and commit it ;)

Anyway, unless something unforeseen happens[1], I intend to upload to
experimental this weekend - which doesn't mean much, we will go through
NEW anyway.

[1] This has been the case quite often this year, but let's not give up
hope ;)
