Package: octave-optim
Version: 1.0.17-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

calling fmin results in

error: `fminbnd' undefined near line 20 column 8
error: called from:
error: /usr/share/octave/packages/3.2/optim-1.0.17/fmin.m at line 20, column
6

as fminbnd has been removed from upstream octave-optim in 1.0.15. The upstream
removal is due to the fact that fminbnd was moved into Octave core with octave
3.4. However, this leaves Octave on Debian without fminbnd (and hence a broken
fmin) until a newer version of Octave makes it into Debian. In the meantime, a
reasonable solution might be to include fminbnd.m from octave-optim 1.0.12 in
the Debian package.
