Also, I tried to replicate your problem by running an upgrade test with
piuparts:

 piuparts -a -d wheezy -d sid octave

In particular, the test did the following upgrades:

 * blas 1.2.20110419-2 -> 1.2.20110419-3
 * octave 3.6.1-6 -> 3.6.2-1

And the test succeeded. I attach the log.
