Running these 3 lines on an up-to-date unstable/sid machine, I get no
error, and the PostScript file is created.
We need to find what is specific about your system. It may be that you
are using testing and not unstable. Is there anything else special on
your setup? Do you have access to another machine (virtual or not) where
you can replicate the problem?
Also, are you using the default gnuplot backend or the FLTK backend?
