Package: octave-signal
Version: 1.2.2-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi, fist of all, thank you very much for taking care of Octave in Debian.
Your work is highly appreciated.

I would love to upgrade to octave 3.8, but there is one package that,
currently, is a blocker for me: octave-image.

octave-image is apparently compiled against octave 3.8, but I can't upgrade
my installation because some dependencies of octave-image (e.g.,
octave-signal) are only compiled for octave 3.6. Taking a look at

    http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-octave/octave-signal.git

I see that upstream's package 1.3.0 was already imported, which, according
to

    http://octave.sourceforge.net/signal/

is compatible with octave 3.8. There are some other packages that
octave-image depends on. Is it only a matter of recompiling them?

Thanks in advance,

Rogério.
