This project is more about packaging than about programming, although
programming experience is definitely a plus. The idea is to add the
image-acquisition package to Debian under the maintainership of the
Debian Octave group. This means creating the package, including the run
of the testsuite on the buildds and caring about bugs and user requests
(the last part sounds scarier than it really is :)).

Do you have any previous experience with packaging? Answering "no" here
is not a problem, this is also a mentoring project for us. But it helps
us to better understand your interests and needs.
Also, could you elaborate a bit about how you are currently using
Octave? Do you happen to work/study in an area where image acquisition
is of interest for you?
