I have triaged the Lintian warnings for the octave package and fixed (or
overrode) some of them in Git or by filing reports to the upstream BTS
[1,2,3]. I am not sure though how to cope with these informational
messages from Lintian:
I: liboctave3v5: no-symbols-control-file usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liboctinterp.so.3.0.0
I: liboctave3v5: no-symbols-control-file usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liboctave.so.3.0.0
The symbols file were removed in version 3.4.3-4 of the package, but
the changelog entry is kind of cryptic:
* Remove all symbols files and use shlibs for library versioning.
I do not remember what was meant for "use shlibs for library versioning"
and this is also not clear from the Git log.
What should we do? Just override those Lintian message?
