Thanks for the tip.  I just committed a script 
(octave/debian/generate-hg-tarball.sh) that automate the creation of the 
tarball.

I am right now preparing a new version for experimental that will force 
the build with gcc-6.  Thanks, BTW, for your patch in another message.
