[Pkg-ofed-devel] ofed 1.5 on squeeze...

Hi,

first I'm absolute novice in infiniband technologies and trying to build an test
environment (two nodes, one switch, debian squeeze, kernel 2.6.38). Want to use
infiniband for glusterfs over rdma.

Found the recent mails in archive and installed ofed 1.5 from there. Great,
thanks for the packages. (http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-ofed-
devel/2011-March/000473.html)

Followed the Infiniband Howto (http://pkg-
ofed.alioth.debian.org/howto/infiniband-howto.html)

ibping works, having problems with qperf

root at vsh01:~# ibping -G 0x0002c90300001cda
Pong from vsh02.(none) (Lid 1): time 0.058 ms
...

Manual of qperf says:
"In its most basic form, qperf is run on one node in server mode by
invoking it with no arguments. On the other node, it is run with two
arguments: the name of the server node followed by the name of the
test. A list of tests can be found in the section, TESTS. A variety
of options may also be specified."

root at vsh01:~# qperf vsh02 ud_lat
ud_lat:
getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

What is meant with "name of the server"? Found no way to use it with the GUID
of the other node like in ibping.

Or have I to setup IPoverIB for qperf?

I thought, that with RDMA I don't need IPoverIB!?

Perhaps somebody can enlighten me...

Thanks in advance...
Thomas
