Sun people had no idea why they were there -- they suspect leftover  
from earlier days.  I've removed them in our trunk (https://svn.open-mpi.org/trac/ompi/changeset/18449 
) -- can you let me know if they now pass you lintalyzer?  If so, I'll  
file a CMR to get these over to the 1.2 branch in case we ever do  
another 1.2 release.
