Hi OpenMPI Maintainers!

Robie Basak and I have been working on evaluating whether Ubuntu
Precise should ship with OpenMPI 1.5.x instead of OpenMPI 1.4.x; this
upgrade has been identified of potential importance for future ARM
server deployments.

We have completed a full rebuild test of all reverse build
dependencies on openmpi - aside from a couple of new issues it all
looks OK (see [0] for more details).

We wanted to get an opinion from people closer to OpenMPI on a couple
of things:

1) The general sanity of this upgrade; is OpenMPI 1.5 really ready for
inclusion in anything other than experimental at this point in time?
Upstream describe it as a beta/feature release.

2) Some test cases; before we propose this upgrade in Ubuntu we really
need to run some tests against openmpi 1.5.  Do you guys have any know
good workloads to try against this new version?

Neither Robie or myself have any experience of OpenMPI prior to this
work - any help/guidance you can provide much appreciated!
