Dear maintainers,

openmpi fails to build on ppc64el (a release architecture).

The build fails in the test suite. See:

Naturally this bug prevents dependent packages from building, and hence
from migrating to stretch.

With the soft freeze due on Jan. 5th, fixing this is a rather pressing
matter.
