As for "hardcodedxmlrpccflags.diff" I'm not sure if it is helpful.
It hardcodes arch-dependent path "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu" and
it will be hard to maintain unless it is accepted upstream but in its current 
form it should not be forwarded. It would be nice if you could propose a 
better patch upstream and discuss with them -- if you do so please let me 
know the corresponding upstream bug number, ideally through DEP-3 headers in 
the patch. This patch makes me feel uncomfortable as I'm not sure if it is 
necessary...
