[Pkg-osm-maint] how can we help closing bugs with patches supplied

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the correct list, I was looking for a list
regarding debian-gis and debian-osm package development, and I think
this is it.

I asked this IRC with no reply so I'll ask again here.

I would like to know if there anything non debian developers can do to
help along closing outstanding bugs? I reported

with my suggestion of the fix. Someone else even provided a git repo
with the patch, yet we haven't heard a word from the package
maintainer or anyone else that has the rights to apply the patch to
the alioth git repo, or provide comments on the bug of why it can't be
applied to the alioth git repo for the package.

What else can we do to help close this bug?
