Hi guys,
As you are already aware, the pkg-ossim alioth group has been created as well
as this list. I think we should start using the CVS server to upload the
different packages that are currently available that are part of OSSIM:
- Pads: Passive Asset Detection System, http://passive.sourceforge.net/
- Python-adodb: A database abstraction library for python
- Phpgacl: PHP Generic Access Control Lists, http://phpgacl.sourceforge.net/
- BASE: Basic Analysis and Security Engine, http://secureideas.sourceforge.net/
and all the PHP packages used by BASE
IMHO we should start by uploading all the different versions we've produced,
starting with the oldest one. So that all the changes are preserved in a
control versioning system.
I've just done that with the first one PADS, you can see the results at
http://cvs.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/pads/?cvsroot=pkg-ossim
I've tagged the different Debian releases with a 'deb-rel-X-Y-Z' tag and the
upstream release with a 'rel-X-y' tag to make it easier to track changes
between package releases.
Once we have all packages in CVS we can start using that to coordinate our
work instead of passing packages around.
Alioth tip: when using CVS against cvs.alioth.debian.org, make sure you don't use
public key authentication (if you have an RSA key) by setting
'PubkeyAuthentication no' in your ~/.ssh/config for that host. Otherwise you
will find that it takes a looooong time to connect to the CVS server.
Regards
Javier
