Hoi Holmes,

Thanks so much for the input, I have replied below.

Not really, we have updated some stuff around the website already,
please have a look again!

It would be great to have, but i'm a bit skeptical on how to provide
this in a safe way. I'm open for suggestions, but wouldn't place this
high on a priority list.

That would be amazing indeed! Maybe OpenITP or people on this list knows
of people who could help with this? We don't have any funds, we can
offer them glorious libtech karma? ;-)

I have a bit of an ethical dilemma with Facebook. However, at the end of
the day, it's the user who makes the decision to be on facebook and to
share and not me. I'll make a ticket for this!

Right now, if I try to start an OTR conversation with somebody who doesn’t have OTR, they get this page https://otr.cypherpunks.ca/ which isn’t a very good introduction for a new user. Otr.im seems like an ideal replacement, especially if you make the above changes.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I will make a ticket about this on https://bugs.otr.im/

If this feature got integrated into libotr, it would make OTR *much* more viral! And I don’t really see a downside; it wouldn’t be too annoying, and you could let users turn it off if they want to.

I see, we have discussed something along these lines but in a different
fashion, we wanted to start a campaign to let OTR capable clients start
conversations in an opportunistic fashion. If two clients have OTR,
either a message will appear or an OTR conversation will start. I will
make a research ticket about this!

Thanks for the very useful feedback!

All the best,
Jurre
