I don't know. My initial reaction was "Yes", but then I started
wondering about what happens when we have both a pci.ids.gz and a
pci.ids ... will it confuse the user if one is newer than the other, yet
we use the older one?
It's not particularly hard for the user to compress pci.ids if they need
to, and the last patch I sent makes update-pciids download and install
the .gz version, so this is a case which shouldn't happen.
