I really appreciate that. Did you already submit them upstream for
proofreading / inclusion into the package? I guess that upstream would
love additional Makefile.am patches that would also have the man pages
installed on make install <toolname>.
Maybe it would be a good idea to fork pdns on github and to build
patches that upstream can pull from there? Peter works a lot with
github.

man -l dnswasher.8 > /dev/null
will give you any parsing errors that may arise.
Regarding layout, the pdns upstream sources contain man pages in the
pdns/docs subdirectory. I guess that new man pages that orient
themselves along these have a pretty good chance of being accepted
upstream.
