On demand the package creates the database on installation.

I suggest to provide details for manually configuration.

pdns-backend-pgsql promises Details:

# apt-get install pdns-backend-pgsql
...
 Package configuration
...
If you are an advanced database administrator and know that you want to
perform this configuration manually, or if your database has already
been installed and configured, you should refuse this option. Details
on what needs to be done should most likely be provided in
/usr/share/doc/pdns-backend-pgsql.
...

Or provide a link to http://doc.powerdns.com/
or http://doc.powerdns.com/generic-mypgsql-backends.html
...
(missing pdns-doc package in wheezy).

Greetings
Robert
