I'm not sure either, but looking at Changes my impression is that after
the long break in development, upstream has switched to a new system
jumping from 0.241 to 1.00 and then linearly increasing the last of the
two digits even for very minor changes. So my guess is "we're all
becoming a little firefoxy these days". And since we already carry an
epoch it wouldn't be too inconvenient to increase it if upstream decides
to again change its versioning scheme - or am I missing something?
