hi,

unfortunately, there will be no readline support in the forseeable
future. see

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=286356

for some more information.  without a change in the licensing situation
between php <-> readline, or a fix to libedit, the feature will remain
disabled.
