Ondřej,

I apologize, you are right, there are dotdeb packages. (How did you know?)

dpkg -l | grep php returned this:

rc libapache2-mod-php5 5.2.1-0.dotdeb.1 server-side, HTML-embedded scripting languag
ii php-pear 5.1.6-1ubuntu2.3 PEAR - PHP Extension and Application Reposit
ii php5-cli 5.2.1-0.dotdeb.1 command-line interpreter for the php5 script
ii php5-common 5.2.1-0.dotdeb.1 Common files for packages built from the php
ii php5-mysql 5.2.1-0.dotdeb.1 MySQL module for php5
rc php5-mysqli 5.1.6-1ubuntu2 MySQL Improved module for php5

So I have a mess. The solution is to remove and purge these, then apt-get from unstable?

Regards - Miles Thompson
