The right way is to file a bug report via bugs.debian.org.

It should only be updated via "security" if it's an exploitable security
hole.  It will only be updated via 4.0r3 (4.0r2 is already released and will
include no more updates) if the bug is considered release-critical by the
SRMs and the maintainers also prepare an update for this issue.
