I've built a backport for etch (I've changed the deps on firebird again,
that's why I've put myself as maintainer in the packages, so there won't
be any confusion), the amd64 bins are avaiable at
http://debian.bzed.de/etch-backports/

I won't have time to test the packages before the debcamp, but probably
somebody else is interested. Building worked well.
