i should have some time next week, now that i've gotten most of the back
from vacation stuff sorted out.  the biggest thing that i know of needing
a fix is the libmysqlclient problem causing intermittent segfaults,
but that's a mysql issue not a php one.  what is there php-side that we
need to consider?
