[php-maint] change of VCS (was: Re: pre-approval of new upload of php5)

hi everyone,

for reference raphael raised the idea of moving to git as a new vcs.

oh, i misread the situation, i thought the changes were already committed.
well i guess that there'll be another upload...

proper use of feature branches instead of patch files, but still being able
to output them as patch series during integration/packaging time.

okay, so hopefully now with an explicit subject it will catch the interest 
of a few more maintainers: any thoughts/opinions?

as discussed earlier, i'm in favor of at least moving php5 to git,
and leaving a git-svn bridge in place to map the new branches/tags to
the respective svn locations if there is demand for it.

if maintainers of other packages in pkg-php want to stay with svn i
think that's fine and nobody should be forced to move.

that's my thought on it anyway...
