yeah, likewise.  iirc i got it to bulid earlier on but it would
detect bogus(?) overflows when running fairly benign test code.

if you're not making any actual changes to the patches i say go ahead
and push them on the debian-sid branch, since i don't think there's a
need to review them before they're included.
