I tried installing PHP 5.3 per the instructions and got some errors.
No doubt I'm doing something wrong. Please see
http://pastebin.com/f4eb7e14d
To summarize, i tried the instructions as is, which gave me depends
errors. Then I tried installing the dep packages first.
At the end of it, when i tried reinstalling php5 I got:
php5: Depends: libapache2-mod-php5 (>= 5.3.0-3) but 5.3.0-2 is to be
installed or libapache2-mod-php5filter (>= 5.3.0-3) but it is not
going to be installed or php5-cgi (>= 5.3.0-3) but it is not going to
be installed
       Depends: php5-common (>= 5.3.0-3) but 5.3.0-2 is to be installed
I'm not sure why, but 5.3.0-2 seems to have installed anyway, as shown
by php5 -v. However the php5 startup fails looking for suhosin.so:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/suhosin.so'
(I guess this is from the previous install which included suhosin)
