Short answer: no, for now.

Not true, it does change behaviour and does not support some features.

Nonsense (I know, you copied it from one of the mysqlnd pages, but still).

We won't switch to mysqlnd for Squeeze but might be considered for a
later release. The different changes in behaviour and (lack of)
features would do more harm than good.
