i believe from what i heard that it's n>2, even. fwiw i'm in favor of
fudging the severity and getting the current package migrated as well. i
think following -4 we'll have a few other fixes trickling in and it would
be nice to not have to feel like adding these fixes would be
delaying/endangering 5.3 getting into testing. and furthermore like
you suggested the extra exposure would be a big plus.
