Thanks for the report and the explanation, we are going to ship version 5.3.3
(to be released next week) in squeeze, which already includes the feature you
request.
If you are interested, you could give the 5.3.3RC3 packages that are going to
be uploaded tomorrow to experimental a try. Testing them and reporting bugs
are appreciated.
