Ondrej, can you take a look at it? it seems to be a side-effect of
your crypt patch.
At first sight there doesn't seem to be a way to determine the limit
at built-time (at least crypt(3) doesn't mention any defined
constant). Worst case would be to hardcode it to 16 bytes and add a
test that makes sure that's in fact the limit.
