[php-maint] How to register a different PEAR channel when installing a package

Hi,

I'm taking a look at php-timer to finish the ITA but i have a question:

PHP_Timer uses a different PEAR channel (http://pear.phpunit.de) i can't
install it with pear channel-discovery because it needs internet
connection, so i'm thinking in add the channel.xml file from the PEAR channel 
to the package and register the channel using pear channel-add.

However i'm not sure if that solution is correct, so Is there any other PEAR 
package that is located in a different PEAR channel? and do you think
that my solution is correct or i need to check for another alternative?
