[php-maint] Concerning php5-gd and imageantialias()

Hello maintainers,

We have testing Wheezy server in our workplace going ready for
production, and we have noticed problems with PHP application that
renders charts - they are pixelated, aliased.

So... imagenatialias() is not implemented...

I've seen archived bug #321237 (
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=321237 ), though I
hoped that this will be fixed until Jessie comes over.

To check if it's fixed, I have installed Jessie inside virtual machine
to look for imageantialias(), but sadly it's still missing...

I kinda understand policy behind not-using-bundleded-libraries, but it's
sad that recompilation of php5-gd is probably still be needed for other
few years, until Jessie+1, "just" for that, for a single function.

Is there any possibility to resolve this issue until Jessie is released?
Is there anything that can be done?

I have at least tried to ask about it in libgd bug tracker (
https://bitbucket.org/libgd/gd-libgd/issue/115/backports-php-internal-functions-to-libgd#comment-13551981
), but to no avail...

Thanks.
