Ondrej , don't know if this could help, this is my first PHPT.
I don't know how to test it without a server up and running to send the 
curl call.
Please review the included file curl_cookiefile.php I think it could be 
a good start.
This script help me to check that this is working on previous versions 
of php and in newer versions.
I think this only applies to #780764
