Me. The verbosity has been reduced dramatically, but it still says
root@donald:~# /etc/init.d/postgresql stop
Stopping PostgreSQL database server: postmaster
waiting for postmaster to shut down......done
postmaster successfully shut down
.
root@donald:~# /etc/init.d/postgresql start
Starting PostgreSQL postmaster.
postmaster successfully started
This is still against policy 9.4. IMHO it is also unnecessary to print
the same information twice. As everywhere in Unix, "no news is good
news", i. e. as long as no error message is printed, it should be
successful.
I can deal with it if nobody else wants to.
