Yes, I'm discussing it with Tom Lane (on pgsql-hackers@postgresql.org).

I would prefer to do a proper fix for this, since a version with
spinlocks disabled will be horrendously slow.  However, upstream will
not do an official fix for this in case it breaks the current stable
version for other platforms, so we'll have to do a Debian-only fix.
