I'm providing unofficial packages for Pg 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 for etch and
lenny here:

 http://packages.bluegap.ch/debian/postgresql

See my previous mail [1].

It violates the backports' rule, that the packages must be in Debian
testing to get backported.

Instead, I'm rather thinking that Debian proper should include
everything from 8.1 to 8.3, instead of dropping support. As far as I
understand, Martin Pitt is about the only maintainer of Postgres and not
really willing to support older versions for Debian.

I'm not a Debian Developer, but I'm trying my best to maintain these
Postgres versions. I'm using pretty much all of these versions in
production on etch and lenny.
