Yeah, that's the Debian way of seeing it. The problem is, it's not how
people use Postgres. I personally don't consider 8.1 obsolete, it's
still well maintained and its latest release is currently just a month old.

..as opposed to the Postgres project, yes.

No encouragement needed here, it's a requirement for lots of production
grade installations anyway, IMO.

Okay, thanks for this hint. That's fine with me, I luckily don't use
anything pre-8.1 anymore.
