Version: 9.1.4-1
Severity: normal
Server error messages which comes before database connection seems to be
localized
and displayed with '?' instead of letters both in client (local or remote
- doesnt matter) messages and server log.
This problem first appear in postgresql-9.1 version 9.1.3-1
Previous version 9.1.2-4 found in debian snapshot displays messages in
english.
how to reproduce:
install postgresql-9.1 and run psql with wrong credentials, will output
broken error message:
# aptitude install postgresql-9.1
# psql
psql: ????: ???? "root" ?? ??????????
after succesfull connection furher error messages are show normally with
right locale and encoding:
# sudo -u postgres psql
psql (9.1.3, сервер 9.1.4)
