[Pkg-postgresql-public] Postgresql & libpq 9.2 in backports?

What needs to be resolved to put PostgresQL / libpq(dev) 9.2 into squeeze backports? I have not contributed previously, but I could do whatever work I am able to advance that goal, but those on this list who do the main packages probably know already what may be required or be blocking this.

We have built on squeeze boxes in our development environment by including pgapt.debian.net, but our operations teams do not like to run Linux in production newer than Squeeze or any software that has not made it into backports at least. This is for new databases, so there is no compatibility issue with 9.1.

The need arises becaue PQsetSingleRowMode, a new function in postgres 9.2, is quite an indispensable function so that large query results can be processed incrementally rather than failing if the result is bigger than available memory. We have huge data sets, and are trying to switch from other DBs that already support incremental query response processing. Otherwise, we would be happy with 9.1.

I would appreciate pointers.

Ray
