Noted.  Still, if the user does not heed the first warning, I doubt they
will pay attention to the warning from the release-notes.

Okay, I have now moved the section into 4.8 ("Preparing for the next
release") and linked to it from various other places as deemed necessary
for the Wheezy to Jessie release.

Please note that it may be a couple of hours before it is live on the
website.
